Aftercare

I will cover the tattoo in a plastic wrap once finished. Please tell me if you are irritant to adhesive!   (this covering prevents bacteria from getting into your skin. It also protects the tattoo from rubbing onto your clothes and getting irritated)

Looking after your new tattoo:

- Firstly please keep the dressing on for a

few hours until you can remove it safely

indoors. It’ll help contain any fluid or

excess ink that leaks from the tattoo.

- After a few hours, you can remove the

covering. Woohoo! Once the covering

comes off, you’ll probably notice fluid

oozing from the tattoo. This is blood, plasma (the clear part of blood), and some extra ink. It’s normal. Your skin will also be red and sore. It might feel slightly warm to the touch.

- Make sure you   wash your hands with water and soap. Then gently wash the tattoo with warm water and fragrance free soap. Afterwards be sure to gently pat dry with kitchen towel.

- After all of the moisture is absorbed, keep the area dry for 20 to 30 minutes, now    you should apply a very small amount of fragrance free and alcohol free moisturiser to the tattoo.  You do not need to recover your tattoo.

- Please continue to keep it clean and apply the moisturiser sparingly 2-3 times a day, whenever it feels dry.  Keep this up for roughly 2-3 weeks after getting your tattoo.

- Once fully healed please take care in the sun! Applying a high spf sunblock will keep your tattoos bright   and bold  throughout your adventures! Think of it as paintwork on a car, Look after it!

Aftercare products recommended:

- Simple's Deep Moisturiser

- Pennyblack tattoo butter

You shouldn’t:

- Cover your tattoo with sunscreen

 until it’s fully healed.

- Scratch or pick at the tattoo this can

cause your body to produce scar tissue and ink to drop out of your new tattoo. Scars can be permanent. So no picking please !!!

- Wear tight clothing over the tattoo

Go swimming or immerse your tattoo   in water (showers are fine)

- Apply vaseline or savlon during the healing process

- Put your tattoo in direct sunlight

You will be able to get one free retouch within 6 months of your tattoo ! You can book in for this or have it done while getting a new tattoo done, just bring it to my attention. I appreciate that  life can get in the way and accidents happen during the healing process and I want your tattoo to look the best it can!

Any further questions prior or during the healing process, please feel free to contact me.
